St. Mary’s Advancement Day

Advancement days (also commonly referred to as “Merit Badge Days”) are a great way for Scouts to earn merit badges offered by the Scouting program.

Unlike rank requirements, the BSA requires Scouts to complete merit badges under the guide of a registered merit badge counselor. Depending on the merit badge, the process can be difficult. This is especially true if a counselor isn’t available within the area or when the Scouts is available.

Events such as these greatly simplify the process. They bring the Scouts and the counselors together to a single location at the same time. It’s often possible to even complete multiple merit badges in one day!

On February 23rd, Troop 1072 at St. Mary’s in Edwardsville IL is hosting an Advancement Day event for area Scouts. Registration can be done through their website at www.troop1072.org. Please see the site and the flyer below for more details.
