About Us

Welcome to the Troop 1086 website!

Practicing the raising and lowering of the flag

Troop 1086 does a ton of fun and exciting things during the summer and over the school year! When you are a scout, you might have many goals. For example, you could want to complete a certain number of merit badges or have this amount of service hours, but in Boy Scouts, there is an overarching goal which is to get the Eagle Rank. Once you are an eagle, you are at the highest point in scouting.

Almost every Monday during the school year, we have meetings at Holy Cross in Collinsville and we have fun working on merit badges and overall working on getting to Eagle Scout. During the summer, we go to different places to have fun and get merit badges. We also have fun at week-long scout camps.

In Boy Scouts, we do many other things outside of the meetings as well, for example, we have an event called Klondike every January where we go to Warn Levis Camp and pull sleds in the snow and compete against other scout troops to see who can get the highest points in events.

During February, we help set up chili dinner for Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville. In May, we help set up crosses on Memorial Day at Jefferson Barracks. In September, we help at mom and me at different events to help everything run as smooth as possible. We also have Rendezvous in October and we help with the Haunted Hayride for the Cub Scouts.

As you can see, there are a lot of things that we do and will do for the future. If you are unsure about the troop, just visit our Contact Us page and send us a message. We’d love to give you more info about our troop!
