Scout Sunday – A Scout Is Reverent
Each year the BSA designates a Sunday in February as Scout Sunday. It’s a reminder to the Scouts (and those affected by the Scouts) of the importance of the 12th point in the Scout Law:
A Scout Is Reverent
The Scouts are encouraged to attend a service at their church. They wear their Class A uniform, and as appropriate, help out with various aspects of the service.
A few of our Scouts attended service together at our charter organization’s church, Holy Cross Lutheran Church. They graciously reserve a few pews up front so that we can all sit together.
Scout Sunday is celebrated on different Sundays in February depending on the troop and/or religious denomination. We celebrated on February 3rd, which as normal, coincided with our annual Chili Dinner fundraiser.
