A day of climbing at Upper Limits

Our Scouts spent the day today at Upper Limits, where they had the opportunity to learn and apply new climbing skills!

August is a busy month for everyone…especially for Scouts. As they are all in the junior-high and high-school age range, the beginning of August means that school is about to begin. As a result, we usually limit our August event to just a day event, just to make it a little easier on everyone. So, for this month, the troop spent the day learning new climbing skills.

Troop 86 - Climbing Merit Badge

Our troop has been to Upper Limits a number of times over the years. With a location downtown in St. Louis, it’s easy for us to get to, and the staff is always great. As a bonus, they have a program specifically designed for the Climbing Merit Badge!

Several of our Scouts spent a good part of the day at Upper Limits learning about safety, knots, and other aspects of climbing. As with most merit badge classes, there was some discussion, but the majority of the time was spent practicing what they learned.

A big THANKS to Upper Limits for a great day, and for giving our Scouts the opportunity to earn their Climbing Merit Badge!
