Another Successful Scouting For Food Event

Every November the BSA organizes the Scouting For Food event, which is the largest food drive in the country!

Today our Scouts spent Saturday morning collecting over 6,600 donated food items from generous residents in our area for the annual Scouting For Food event!

A week ago, the Scouts spent their Saturday morning distributing donation bags to houses in our area. Each unit has a designated area to cover. Ours is a bit spread out, so covering the entire area is no small feat!

Today they returned to the same areas to collect all of the items. Thanks to the generosity of those in Collinsville, our Scouts collected a massive amount of food. The food pantry was incredibly grateful!

We make an effort to participate in Scouting For Food event every year. It’s just one of numerous service projects our Scouts do as a way to give back to others.

A huge thanks to all of our Scouts, the parents/leaders who helped, and to everyone who donated items!
