Helping at the Holy Cross Wurstmarkt
An Annual Tradition
We’re not certain how many years our troop has helped Holy Cross with their annual Wurstmarkt event. We’ve been doing it for so long, we’ve lost count.
It doesn’t really matter how many times we’ve helped. What IS important is that we are always willing and proud to help out our charter organization. Helping with this event is a relatively small gesture compared to the countless years they have supported our troop.
This is also a great opportunity for our Scouts to do one of the things that is central to our troop…helping others. A number of our Scouts (and adult leaders) set aside most of their day to help out, and they were more than happy to do so.
Doing What We Can To Do More
Years ago, when our troop helped with this event, our efforts were mostly focused on helping with beverages for those dining in. Over the past few years, we’ve sought out additional ways to help. As a result, our troop now handles most of the tasks in the dining area, such as clearing and resetting the tables, keeping the area clean, and…of course…ensuring there are plenty of drinks for everyone.
Congrats To Our Scouts and Holy Cross
As usual, we received numerous compliments from those dining in regarding our Scouts and how helpful they were. We’re not doing it for the recognition, but it’s great to know that we are making a difference and that our Scouts are representing our troop so well. Well done, guys!
Finally… Congratulations to Holy Cross and its many volunteers on another successful event. We look forward to helping you again next year!
